Where it is and parking
The market sets up along the tree-lined streets of Haile Village Center in southwest Gainesville, with the village’s locally owned shops and restaurants around it, so you can shop the market and stay for brunch. The market does not publish parking rules or a parking area, and it posts a market map on its home page.
Tickets and cost
The market is free to visit; no tickets are needed. Each vendor sets its own prices.
What to know
- Who sells: the market is owned and run by local farmers and has met since 1998. All of its produce vendors are farmers, not brokers, so the produce is grown by the people selling it.
- What you will find: fruit and vegetables, bread, cheese, eggs, meat, seafood and coffee, prepared food, plants from nurseries, and handmade crafts. The market says about 60% of its mix is locally sourced meat, dairy and produce and 30% crafts, baked goods and made-to-order food, from more than 50 registered vendors a year.
- Pet parade, Oct. 31: owners and their costumed pets parade through the center of the market at 10:30 a.m., and the best costume wins a prize.
