Startup Gainesville and UF host a Founders Summit panel at Gerson Hall on Friday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with founders the project has interviewed.

Founders interviewed by Startup Gainesville will sit on a panel at the University of Florida’s Founders Summit on Friday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gerson Hall.

Startup Gainesville, the local media project that films interviews with Gainesville entrepreneurs, is partnering with UF on the summit to host the panel, its founder JP Dishinger told the Gainesville Journal.

“Startup Gainesville is partnering with UF for the Founders Summit to host a panel featuring several of the founders we’ve interviewed,” Dishinger said.

Who has been interviewed

Startup Gainesville was founded on Sept. 14 and says it has reached more than 100,000 viewers since then. Its interviews have ranged from former SpaceX engineers to college students and founders building companies from their dorm rooms, Dishinger said.

The businesses it has featured include a sauna house, a Swedish candy cart, a saltwater fish shop, a fast-growing run club and a planned country club. One of them is Gainesville Sauna House, whose co-founder Connor Cornell is pictured with Dishinger at the top of this story.

“Almost all of them set out with the goal of creating something that they wanted in Gainesville,” Dishinger said of the founders when the project first spoke to the Gainesville Journal. “They created their businesses when they realized ‘I wished this existed because I would love it.’”
