Getting there and parking

Heartwood Soundstage is at 619 S. Main St., south of downtown near Depot Park. The organizer has not published a parking plan; it is recruiting volunteers for parking, check-in and gate security on its Tom Petty Weekend site.

Saturday and Sunday are also the weekend of the 45th Downtown Festival and Art Show, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., which draws big crowds downtown, so allow extra time to park. Downtown parking rules and garages are on our getting around guide, and lane closures are on our road construction and closures page.

Tom Petty in Gainesville

Petty was a Gainesville native. Northeast Park, 501 NE 16th Ave., is also called Tom Petty Park, and a Florida Heritage marker there, sponsored by the Gainesville Music History Foundation and the Florida Department of State, tells his story. Other places to hear music in town are on our live music and nightlife guide.
