From the founder interviews
Gainesville Sauna House was one of the businesses Startup Gainesville filmed for its interviews with local founders. Its co-founder, Connor Cornell, is pictured with Startup Gainesville founder JP Dishinger at the top of this story.
When we first wrote about Startup Gainesville, Dishinger named the sauna house first in his list of the businesses that surprised him.
“I was also extremely surprised with the diverse amount of businesses we have here in Gainesville,” Dishinger said. “From a sauna house, Swedish candy cart, saltwater fish shop, an extremely fast growing run club, and a future country club, there is basically anything you could imagine right here in Gainesville.”
He said almost every founder he met had started with something they wanted in town themselves: “They created their businesses when they realized ‘I wished this existed because I would love it.’”

Startup Gainesville’s interviews and short videos are published on Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.
