Grove Street Farmers Market opens Monday, Nov. 16, on two blocks of NW 4th Street closed to cars, 4 to 7 p.m., with 85 vendor spaces. Updated November 2026.

Grove Street Farmers Market is moving. From Monday, Nov. 16, the Monday evening market will set up on NW 4th Street between NW 8th and NW 10th avenues, and those two blocks will be closed to cars while it runs.

The market announced the move in a press release on Nov. 5. The new site is “just steps from its longtime location,” it said, and the hours do not change: 4 to 7 p.m. every Monday, all year, according to the market’s own website.

“This move is about so much more than changing locations,” said Monica Albert, who founded the market in 2020. “It’s about creating a safer, more inclusive and vibrant gathering place where our farmers and makers can thrive, families can relax, and neighbors can spend time together. We’ve built something truly special over the past six years, and this next chapter gives us the opportunity to make it even better.”

What changes on Nov. 16

The market says the car-free street will be safer, ease congestion and make it easier to get around for families with strollers, people using wheelchairs and visitors of all ages.

There will be more room, too. The market says the new space will have seating for hundreds, places to gather and eat food from the vendors, and live local music.

The map the market sent us shows 85 numbered vendor spaces along both sides of NW 4th Street, split into two sections:

  • West section, NW 8th Avenue to NW 9th Avenue: spaces 19 to 42 and 61 to 85.
  • East section, NW 9th Avenue to NW 10th Avenue: spaces 1 to 18 and 43 to 60.

Barriers close the street at NW 8th Avenue and NW 10th Avenue, and another blocks NW 9th Avenue where it meets NW 4th Street. In the east section, a marked entrance leads to a garden space labeled “MO’s Garden Events” with live music, patron seating and a wine and beer bar.

Why the market is moving

The market says it now draws an average of 1,000 visitors a week. The move gives it room to grow its vendor footprint and bring in more local farmers, makers and small businesses, it said.

It also expects the new layout to bring more foot traffic to the businesses around it. “We’re incredibly grateful to the neighbors and businesses who have supported us and helped make this market what it is today,” Albert said. “We’re not leaving the neighborhood we love. We’re investing in its future, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to our new home.”

The market describes itself as farmer and maker driven. Its website lists farm-fresh eggs, organic fruits and vegetables, free-range beef and chicken, honey, cow and goat milk and cheese, and artisan foods and products.
